Start of Construction of the Tugboat "Awkar" in Izmit, Turkey

The construction works of the new maritime tugboat "Awkar", with a power of 4,318 horsepower, officially began today at the UZMAR Shipyard in the Turkish city of Izmit. The event was attended by the Director General of the Autonomous Port of Nouakchott, Mr. Sidi Mohamed Maham, and the Harbor Master.
During the ceremony, which was attended by dozens of workers and shipyard officials, the Chairman and CEO of the shipyard, Mr. Ahmed Noyan Altuk, reaffirmed his commitment to the contract obligations and called on the team to demonstrate professionalism and dedication throughout the 12-month construction period.
For his part, the Director General of the Port of Nouakchott expressed his gratitude for the warm welcome, praised the shipyard's expertise, and expressed confidence in the quality of the work after reviewing the project details. He also stressed the importance of meeting all contractual commitments within the agreed deadlines.
The ceremony concluded with the cutting of the ribbon, officially launching the construction work.
