Closure of the Fifth TrainForTrade Training Session at the Port of Nouakchott

The fifth session of the TrainForTrade continuous training program, initiated by the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD), concluded today in the conference hall of the Nouakchott Autonomous Port, also known as the Port of Friendship.

Held under the theme “Tools and Methods for Modern Port Management”, this session aimed to strengthen the capacities of Mauritanian port executives in areas such as governance, operational efficiency, and digital transformation.

Over several days, participants received high-level instruction delivered by the following national experts:

  1. Mr. Mohamed Fayçal Ould Beirouk, Technical Director,

  2. Mr. Mohamed Lemine Ould Tah, Deputy Director of Inspection and Control,

  3. Mr. Mohameden Bah, Director of Information Systems and Digitalization,

  4. Mr. Ely Ould Seyid, Harbour Master.

The session ended in a constructive and enthusiastic atmosphere. Participants praised the relevance and quality of the content and expressed their determination to apply the knowledge gained to support the modernization and competitiveness of the national port sector.

This fifth session is part of the ongoing partnership between UNCTAD and Mauritanian ports to build a skilled human capital capable of addressing the challenges of a constantly evolving maritime environment.
