Nouakchott Port offers land to dockworkers in appreciation of their hard work

On Thursday evening, the Autonomous Port of Nouakchott hosted a ceremony for the distribution of land plots to a group of dockworkers employed by the SOGETRAP company. This initiative is part of the implementation of a pledge made by the President of the Republic, Mr. Mohamed Ould Cheikh El Ghazouani, in support of labor groups.
The distribution aims to improve the living conditions of dockworkers, a segment known for performing strenuous physical labor in challenging work environments, as part of a government policy to promote social justice and support low-income earners.
The ceremony was attended by the Minister of Fisheries and Maritime and Port Infrastructure, Mr. El-Veadhil Ould Sidati, the Minister of Civil Service and Labor, Mr. Mohamed Ould Soueidatt, the Director General of the port, Mr. Sidi Mohamed Ould Maham, as well as representatives from the relevant sectors.
The beneficiaries expressed their gratitude for this gesture, which they described as real support for their families. They emphasized the moral encouragement it represents, while officials highlighted the humanitarian and social significance of the initiative.
