Nouakchott Port Authority launches medical campaign for hepatitis B screening and vaccination
The Nouakchott Port Authority (Friendship Port) organized this morning an awareness and medical campaign dedicated to screening and vaccinating against hepatitis B. The initiative was carried out in collaboration with the National Institute for Liver and Viral Diseases, the National Occupational Health Office, and the Friendship Port Foundation, and targeted both port workers and dockers from the company Sogitrap.
The campaign was supervised by the Port’s Director General, Mr. Sidi Mohamed MAHAM, and provided dozens of employees with free medical check-ups and vaccinations, in a well-organized setting with the full cooperation of all stakeholders involved.
This initiative forms part of the port’s strategy to strengthen preventive healthcare in the workplace and to reduce the risks of chronic diseases, particularly viral hepatitis, which remains a major health challenge among workers.
Organizers of the campaign emphasized the importance of maintaining such awareness and medical activities, praising the significant support provided by the Port’s management to ensure the success of this health initiative dedicated to employee well-being and safety.
